Kara was born and raised in Maui, HI. She was immersed in the ocean, tropical valleys, native arid landscapes, and so much more through her physical passions and artistic adventures. She studied Botany and Fine Arts at Humboldt State University, weaving science and art into each other.

The experience of existing in unison with the natural world can bring about bliss. Kara has found that pottery has a unique ability to embody that aspirational existence.
